Hello Everyone.

I have been taking Montelukast for 3 weeks for sinusitis and asthma. I can't really notice any difference and wondered how long it took to work for others?

Thanks for thoughts anyone!

Hi, I started on montelukast around same time as you and noticed a difference almost straight away and has got better and better as weeks gone by it's been a life changer. Some people are different and may take longer to kick in 6 to 8 weeks I believe. But saying that I'm sure I read somewhere possibly 2 months I wouldn't wait that long though.I'd definitely give it a few more weeks then see how you are.

Hope they start working soon.

Give it 8 weeks. For many it’s a great drug for a few it doesn’t work at all

Thank you. 8 weeks seems to be the consensus. Will keep on with it for another month to see and hope it works for me. Also going back on Vit D to see what that does if anything!

Hi, I was prescribed it by our new asthma nurse after 30 years of annoying asthma cough. It was miraculous for me, woke up the morning after my first dose without coughing like a 20 a day smoker! I have developed indigestion/reflux that might be unconnected that I’m taking omeprazole for. I really hope it works for you.

Thank you. Great that it had that instant effect for you! Also, it sounds like you had no side effects? Have been reading some horror stories!

I was a slow starter on Montelukast, in that it took a couple of months before I felt it had made a difference. Now if I miss a dose I get wheezy the next day. If you don't see any improvement after 8 weeks then definitely go back to your asthma nurse/doctor.

Morning... I didn't know it was for Sinusitus. Maybe it's just not working for you?

Good morning I think it's meant to deal with the excess mucous. I'll give it a few more weeks to see if it works!

I know that my pulm and I didn't think it was helping me until I stopped it and my sinusitis flared. I don't know how it helps but it works well for me, as subtle as it is. Give it at least 6months.

I started another month but still can't really tell if it helps. Still coughing but then the weather being so hot probably hasn't helped!
