Hi everyone

I got an email from Allergy UK about immunotherapy for allergy treatments and saw Prof Stephen Durham from the Royal Brompton is on their board, has anyone seen him for allergic asthma as I'm not getting anywhere with current consultant. I have mould and pollen allergies which really trigger my asthma, had lots of courses of steroids over the past 10 years and feeling the side-effects more and more and currently not working as a result. Not getting much relief with current steroid/antihistamine treatment generally and not eligible for Xolair either so looking at alternatives.

thanks in advance.

I had immunology for house dust mites around 30 years ago and the reduction in allergic reaction was excellent. I don't know whether this form of treatment is still offered generally but worth asking about to see if it's still available and whether you might be eligible.

Hi Ayeup, glad it helped, what did the procedure involve?

It was a course of injections. I think about 6 of them given at weekly intervals. I had to wait in the waiting room for an hour after each injection in case of ana but thankfully I was OK. They have really helped.
