Fostair 100/6

How do you know the fostair 100/6 is not working properly. I am struggling to get my breath back a little bit. Sometimes a stabbing pain in my left side of my chest. My chest is clear, I am on piriton to help with my intolerance to new pollen. I don't have hayfever. I am just struggling to breath slightly in the morning and night right after taking my fostair. I am taking 2 puff's morning and night

When I was put initially on Fostair 100/6 it didn’t help my asthma come into control at all, I was upped too 209/6 & that one worked like magic! Maybe you need a sronger preventer dose too....

I found Fostair caused my lung mucous to coagulate thereby making my symptoms worse. Eventually I tried a dry powder inhaler which prevents that. Fostair is good, but doesn't suit everyone, and is prescribed because it is cheap - see if you can get something else. As my doctor says, there are plenty of asthma inhalers on the market - it's big business!

Hi Camilla,

I'm on the same Fostair plus Spiriva respimatt (and dynamist for nasal polyps). When I started Fostair I had some pain on my left side too but it seemed to go away after a maybe a week. The first few days on Fostair were brutal as it felt like I was allergic - in that my nose became worse.

Are you using a spacer? I'm not sure if that was the reason (or the dynamist kicked in) but I do feel better now that I'm using one.

I am using a spacer. I had brised my ribs and that is why I felt like my fostair wasn't working as I was struggling taking a deep breath for it
