Extreme Tiredness

Recently been prescribed theophylline to help manage my asthma. My cough is very much improved but suffering from extreme tiredness and lack of energy. Could theophylline be causing this.

Hi Marbella I was given Theophylline 600mg day when in hospital at beginning of year.

It made me tired and gave me the jitters. I felt it was hampering my recovery as I didnt feel at all good on it.

I did eventually pay to have an earlier appointment with my consultant. He took me off it immediatly and ordered blood tests to see if I had too much in my bloodstream.

After a couple days felt good again. Huge relief.

This is just my experience with Theophylline.

I am on Theophylline and suffer from exhaustion. However I am on a lot of stuff and not sure which causes it. I was suffers before the Theophylline. You could ask your doctor. Good luck. x
