Viral exacerbation on Symbicort SMART

Hi

Does anyone have any advice for managing viral exacerbations using Symbicort on the SMART regime.

I'm finding that I have alot of symptoms (night and daytime cough, wheeze, shortness of breath etc) and needing reliever Symbocort as well as Salbutamol too.

My best PEF is 480 but is curretly sitting around 66% of best. Management plan suggests steroids once PEF flows below 60% of best. This doesn't seem to take into account worsening symptoms and mainly focuses on peak flow.

Also, any tips on managing viral exacerbations would be useful. Already had 3 courses of Pred this year.

When well I'm managed on Symbicort 200/6 2 puffs twice daily plus Symbicort as reliever PRN plus Montelukast daily

Thanks
