Yeah Jay most of us are feeling nelly on our chest. Just keep an eye on things and any problem seek medical attention like u been doing. Hope u feel better soon ..

definitely.

i was outside all day today (bad plan) and when it started raining i ende having a mssive coughing wheezing fit. and now i feel the elephant. weell in my case its kind of a boa constricter!

I completely agree, i hate when the weather is like this because now i can guarantee i wont be getting any sleep tonight. Lets just hope its going to improve for the better.

Weather this week

I had my asthma review on the 29th of June and Blew a peak flow of 500, then yesterday 13th july i blew a measly 140.

The G.P said he has had a number of asthmatics in because of the weather, he also said hopefully things will improve.

The waiting room was noisy with all us asthmatics wheezing and coughing.

He said i had a chest infection and has given me antibiotics and Steroids and upped my reliever inhaler.

Look after yourselves

Just goes to show what a capricious mistress asthma can be... I've been enjoying this weather as my symptoms have been much better this week, although I coughed a fair bit last night. It's been a respite from the hot weather that made my symptoms worse.

I am up north with the rain and the wind though...

Hi

Thunderstorms yesterday got me big style. Two asthma attacks in one day! I am now back on 40mg Pred and regular reliever. My respiratory nurse is going to ring me daily till i settle back down. She has warned me there are more storms on the way so more asthma attacks are likely.

I am sofa surfing today and taking it very easy!

Hugs to all the others suffering!

i arrived home on tuesday eve from a beautiful week in tenerife ! temperatures hit 45 degree's daytime out there and min 25 degrees at night. had absolutely no trouble what so ever with my asthma or hayfever over there,

today although we havent actually had a storm here we have nasty winds and its rather cold 15 degrees especially as i was used to it being a lot warmer. basically back in uk wiyth horrible weather and my asthma;s def not playing ball ! :(

The weather is efecting my asthma and got a nelly sitting on my chest and puffed alot.

on max meds, also caught a cold on top.hoping not going on my chest .

Nelly has been sitting on my chest for the past 7 weeks, she finally won and i was admitted to hospital on sun, got out today, but still feel like she is sitting on my chest. normallly this weather doesnt bother me so looks like my asthma is changing its pattern again. its only the cold weather that normally puts me in hospital. has anyone had any issues with the docs looking at you like you are an idiot when you say you feel like your chest is being sat on and they just say oh its the coughing thats making you hurt. (the pain in my chest starts the coughing of but they just try to disagree with me - makes me so angry)

Sallyamy - I know exactly what you mean about doctors looking blank when you talk about chest pain. I think unless you have asthma yourself you have no idea of the discomfort/pain. My mother developed asthma in recent years and she now says she can't believe what my son and I go through. She was always sympathetic to us of course and she suffered herself seeing me so ill, but it's only now that she really appreciates the misery of it. Sorry guys - this is nothing to do with the weather....And yes, I do feel as if I've got an elephant on my chest and back.

Ended up going to the walk in center after having nellie on my chest for weeks also a cold

virus.

Chest infection and on antibiotics and pread.

Ever since I started with asthma 2 years ago im constantly getting infections ontop of

my asthma.

Last winter was realy bad with my asthma most days and the summer doesnt help or damp muggy weather.

I was realy healthy apart from my OA but since started with Asthma spend most of my days on

full action plan and antibiotics and pred.

all weather seems to effect

me and if the cold rainy wintry days are like its been today I know what im in for 80(

weather

This weather gets stranger every day and is causing havoc with my asthma...hmmm. Trouble is i am inside my home and still suffering.

Nellie on Chest

Have been suffering badly this last year, Nellie has been on my chest now for 3 mths and I am a bit sick of her being there LOL, I am sick of being on Pred only had couple of weeks off them in last 6mths, this weather doesnt help at all.

thunderstoams

was talking to my brother (he's just come home) and mentioned my asthma had been worse lately.

he went onto explain how thunderstorms explode pollen, spreading it about. as he knows and i know pollen is probably my biggest trigger. it seems i've found out which bit of this changeable weather has it in for me! (well one of them)

Just before a thunderstorm, all the oxygen is sooked up wards which does not cause any problems for normal people, but for people with breathing difficulties it can cause lots of problems!

They have forecast thunderstorms with hail in yorkshire and humber and also warnings of flooding!

The weather is really making me ill and not sure if something else is too

Weather is making me feel very tired. Which is not good news when it's going to be a busy week.

whens the thunder due? I.m in yorkshire too

Nellie is still sitting on my chest and on pred and antibiotics.

Im so tired all the time and multi doesing to help breath.

glad got tomorrow off work.then 7 weeks holls.

I didn't know about the upward air or the exploding pollen, I just thought it's the atmospheric pressure that makes me feel bad. Thanks for the info.

The heat as made me a frightened man lately, so tired all time not sleeping and nurse said i got anxiety now. Does this make others feel like not going out anywhere. just cant seem to walk much and only want the comfort of my own house. Living like a hermit, winter cooler air suits me better. all the best to other sufferers, its not easy.

im still suffering with this flippin weather, mind you the winters not good for me either lol...very british arent i cos never happy with the weather.i didnt know that about storms either, learn summit new every day x

Nellie taken root! Waiting for my consultant or resp nurse to get back to me.

I am on top meds, not alot more i can do at home.

Only a matter of time.

This weather needs to break to give my lungs a rest!

I am not sleeping so i am totally shattered!

Weather!

This hot weather making my peak flow drop thro' floor, when it cools down p/f's pick up but asthma gets really bad.

so sleepy all the time even though I am getting some sleep.

Nellie is still sitting on my chest and steroids have all gone,

2 days left of antibiotics and then see my asthma nurse monday.

slept all last night ,all afternoon and an hour after my tea.

Asthma and weather ggggrrrrr!!!!

Sleepy, so know that feeling. Wish I could go to sleep and wake up with my chest having settled down for more than just a few hours, getting really fed up with it now. Hope everyone taking care xx
