Couple of questions that have probably been answered before but I can't seem to get the search to work. Sorry!
Why does montelukast have to be taken at night?
And I've forgotten what else I was going to say... I will be back!

It doesn't necessarily work BETTER at night. The reason they have asthmatics take it at bedtime, is they predict that most asthmatics have MORE symptoms at 4AM not 4PM. For me, when I was on Singulair (which was several years), I finally started to take it in the morning, as I had problems around 4 PM when it was wearing off....that had always been my bad time (the cooler evening air, and the molds). For allergies, they say you can take it any time of day or night.
This is what I found on another site...
Hope it helps...
Thanks. My GP was wondering as I have had trouble sleeping since starting Singulair. It says in the BNF, patient leaflet and website to take it at night but doesn't say why anywhere!
Thanks

I take it morning and night and to be honest have not noticed any difference in sleep or anything else since I started using it, my GP told me it did not make any differnce so I guess it depends on who you ask.
