If any of you read my blog about the poor attitude of a bus driver at the beginning of the month, then you might like to know the outcome.
The driver was given a disiplinary talking to by his company about my incident and other complaint's too.
Iv'e got to say it turned out that other than his horrible attitude to me and my family he did have a point as the county council had issued me with a pass that was for disabled without carer. This has now been replaced for the correct type pass which includes carer travels free.
The problem seems to be in inconsistant training by the bus company, because all of the buses that I had traveled on up to meeting the bullying jobs worth driver had exepted my pass as one that carer had travelled free on.
Also the leaflet that comes with the bus pass clearly states that a carer can travel free when needed untill you read the very small print at the back when it becomes very confusing.
If the driver had handled the situation in a more compassionate and professional manner in the first place I'm sure the problem would not have got quite so out of hand, hopefully he has learned a valuable lesson in customer care and not to throw his 27 years of knowledge around as if it gives him a right to be darn right rude.
This driver had probably got away with his bullying for some time now so I'm glad I stood up to him, which will hopefully save other disabled passengers from his disgraceful attitude.
TONY. Keeping up the the fight against bully's
