Unprofessional Bus Driver.

If any of you read my blog about the poor attitude of a bus driver at the beginning of the month, then you might like to know the outcome.

The driver was given a disiplinary talking to by his company about my incident and other complaint's too.

Iv'e got to say it turned out that other than his horrible attitude to me and my family he did have a point as the county council had issued me with a pass that was for disabled without carer. This has now been replaced for the correct type pass which includes carer travels free.

The problem seems to be in inconsistant training by the bus company, because all of the buses that I had traveled on up to meeting the bullying jobs worth driver had exepted my pass as one that carer had travelled free on.

Also the leaflet that comes with the bus pass clearly states that a carer can travel free when needed untill you read the very small print at the back when it becomes very confusing.

If the driver had handled the situation in a more compassionate and professional manner in the first place I'm sure the problem would not have got quite so out of hand, hopefully he has learned a valuable lesson in customer care and not to throw his 27 years of knowledge around as if it gives him a right to be darn right rude.

This driver had probably got away with his bullying for some time now so I'm glad I stood up to him, which will hopefully save other disabled passengers from his disgraceful attitude.

well done, Tony. It does pay to stand up for yourself. It helps you and also others. And the driver will have learnt too.

Put a uniform on some and they think it gives them a god given right to become a know it all - (hitler complex) Good for you complaining to often people don't because they are afraid of repercussions. Brave man xxx

Yes brave man, I intend to let things 'lie' although the last few years I've got braver and stood up to bullying people and feel better for it.

Good for you on complaining, glad the outcome was positive. More people should complain about poor service, there is absolutely no need for rudeness or bullying on public bus service or anywhere else for that matter.

Best wishes

Jo :-)

Well done for pursuing it Tony.

All the extra work when a bus trip takes enough energy out of a day. :-(

Good on ya Tony.

There used to be a driver who was horrible on a route I used to take. He was so unpleasant. I pressed the bell and he went passed the stop as the bell hadn't worked - I was standing mind obviously waiting to get off and after what I had seen couldn't stand his attitude any longer...... and that's when it kicked off. He said I should have pressed the bell - Me: I did, but obviously your bell doesn't work. Why do you always go out of your way to be difficult and nasty to passengers. Three old ladies have got on your bus during this journey and you asked one if she was getting on or not and told the other two to hurry up you haven't got all day. Folks on the bus were agreeing and saying 'you're right' etc. I told him as soon as I saw it was him driving I knew there would be problems. He replied 'well you weren't dissapointed then were you?

I got off the bus really cross and heart racing, but I was laughing too as I did think his last remark was funny.

I'm not usually antagonistic, but hate to see people treated with disrespect.
