My promise to dad became a reality on Friday, I wrote my complaint letter to the local health authority and received a very prompt reply advising, complaint received and so I wait in anticipation.
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, be warned. The fight is on and I'm coming after you. A certain consultant who sent my father home to die instead of treating him.......I'm coming after you too.
But this is a fight not just for dad who I miss like crazy, but for all of you I have come to know with a lung condition. You deserve better treatment, more information and a hell of a lot more compassion.
Whether you have a cup of tea, a pint of lager or a glass of juice of juice in your hand, raise it up and say "let the fight begin!".
I'll keep you posted xxxxx

Good luck with your complaint,I took on my local hospital after my mum died, the coroner asked me the reason,my mum had Ipf but didn't actually die from that, but complications from a fall, weakened bones from steroids, fell and broke hip.I fought hard and long and ended up in hospital myself.May I suggest the advocacy service they are very good with guiding you the process.I felt that at 83 she was treated as if she's had a long life so just let her die.The hospital never really admitted to anything the coroner advised me to go to the ombudsman, but I had run out of steam after a year battling the IPF,I have now been diagnosed with IPF at 63 hope I receive better treatment .Best of luck.
Poured a glass of ginger beer which I've just raised to your efforts tanyamarie. Thinking of you lately and delighted and grateful that you're determined to take up this uphill fight. Your dad and mum raised a lion!
