Low mood and / or anxiety is certainly not helped by the weather. I firmly believe in Seasonal Affective Disorder and added to a few really poor summers and of course the current economic downturn and all the strains and stresses of day to day life do not help!
Anxiety: can be caused by a multitude of events or a single persistent thought.... A strategy to help reduce anxiety is to take the proverbial "baby steps" focus on one SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely) goals. Many of us are very hard on ourselves, expecting perfection at all times and yet when it comes to friends/family we are very supportive.
Its good to talk as the saying goes. If anyone would like some hints and tips on anxiety and develop some coping strategies, or if you would like to have a chat in confidence to share those worries, please feel free to message me or give me a call here at the helpline 03000 030 555.
In the meantime here is hoping to the increase in temperatures the weatherman keeps promising for the next week or so (after the showers of course)....
It would be great if anyone has some coping strategies of their own that work and they would like to share? I'll add some to the mix next week too so keep watching!
In the meantime, look after yourselves and wrap up warm if you venture out.
