Some days I have trouble cooking, we have in the past had Wiltshire Farm Foods deliver ready meals but I must say we are not keen. Does anyone know where I can order good quality ready frozen meals from.

There is a "gourmet" firm which I have heard good things about, though I have not tried them personally.
M & S ready meals are OK but then you've got to go out to get them. We have a deep freeze full of them for days we don't feel like cooking. Tonight we're having speghetti bolanaise ?.
Complete meal, nothing extra to do.

I try to cook a lot of things in bulk and then freeze portions for those sort of days. So we have cottage pies, spag bol, stews, soups and casseroles all ready and waiting.

My brother found a butchers stall on the local market who do home-made stews, curries and so on, in strong freezer bags. They sell it fresh, you take them home and freeze them. He gets a few at a time for my Dad and he really enjoys those. Worth asking around to see if there are any doing similar near you ?
Otherwise we tend to use the supermarket shop for ready meals, if we have to. My wife also makes lasagne and spag bol then divides it into smaller portions to freeze. Handy for her or her daughter when they are working funny shifts and don't get time to make anything from scratch.
try to cook and freez ,because you don't know what you really eating ,try to be vegetarian bens lentills,
I to cook bulk meals and freeze them down,,i found Wiltshire foods very expensive seeing as you can buy the same foods from the supermarkets at a fraction of the price, also its not good for your health to keep eating these,as they contain all sorts and are high in salt,,,but go online to various supermarkets and get home delivery,,much easier
My experience is their is no substitute for home cooking, so cooking in bulk and freezing some on your good days is cheapest and to your own taste. However some say Wiltshire foods are good but small for the price. I found M&S the nearest in taste to home cooking but expensive too. Iceland do a good variety ,delivered and inexpensive, but laden with additives and salt which some people can't have.Last resort is the supermarket who now have many varied ready meals ranging from as cheap as 75p for lasagna, cottage pie, sausage&mash, bolonese ect ect.
Hello Polly
I am very impressed by all the people who answered your post. Compared with them I think that I must be very lazy!!
In the past, I cooked enough food so that I could have a meal and freeze a meal ready for another time. Most of the food I saved (in the freezer) ended up in the bin. I know that I sound really wasteful but when I thawed out my stuff I really didn't like the look of it.
Now, if I cook too much then I put it in the fridge and eat it the next day.
I have my groceries delivered by Tesco or Sainsbury. Depending on the delivery day it can be quite inexpensive (and sometimes the savings on special offers cover the delivery charge).
I agree with the person who said that 'ready meals' from supermarkets contain a lot of salt and additives. Too many of these meals are not good even if you are 100% healthy.
If you are able to then it is best to cook your food each day. I very rarely do anything adventurous with my meals. Sausages, mashed potatoes and vegetables, spaghetti bolognaise, omelette, chicken stir-fry, lamb chops, cold meat/egg/cheese salads (in the summer). One of my favourite meals is haddock poached in milk and some granary bread with butter on the side.
A slow-cooker is a great thing too. You can throw all sorts into it, switch it on and leave it. Lovely!!!!!!!!
I think I had better stop going on and on.
I wish you good health and happiness and lots of good things to eat.

Marks and spencer ready meals are cheaper, and better than wiltshire farms
My ready meals are egg on toast or beans and toast maybe cornflakes lol x
We sometimes purchase ready made meals from our local farm shop and keep them in the freezer for such days, they are very nice, the downside is that they tend to be quite expensive compared to home cooking and I wonder about the salt content. We also have a slow cooker whch i lovely as I can just throw everything in or if we are having a simple meal then I sometimes cook a steamed pudding in it.
never tried steamed pudding in my slow cooker, but thanks for the tip.
I buy frozen microwave chips. They are quite nice and really quick and easy. Iceland do them for 3 boxes (1 portion sizes) for 1.25 or 2 packs for 2.00. I also buy big tins of potatoes for 15p in tesco! They just need heating up in an oven. Don't microwave because they can explode - I ended up with pototoes all over my microwave.

Oooops meant on a hob not in the oven.
Lots of supermarket value ready meals contain horsemeat, so if you get the trots you'll know why. Say neigh to them.
