Good Morning Everybody

I hope you have all had a good weekend and the start of the week is being good to you.

I am sure most of you are aware that the BLF contributed in the PIP consulation process, alongside other health and disability charities the BLF strongly recommended that PIP assessors by law have to determine the client can carry out a task:

1, safely

2, to an acceptable standard

3, repeatedly

4, in a reasonable time period

Ministers have now agreed to ensure this is included in the legisalation, these points were always in the proposals but it will now be part of law, so this really is good news.

Cheers

Jo

I think its a shAme these things have to go to parliment to become law. Long gone are the days of human respect and curtisy to those less fortunate than some of ourselves i would of thought it basic human common sense that people can do things safely for themselves.without being scrutinised by society if they cant.

Thats brilliant news, about the law on PIP assessors, now to see if it works in the future. As in the past the regulations required the same considerations when assessing a persons ability to perform tasks but people were still assessed on a format of whether they could or could not perform a said task. Fingers crossed the new law works.
