Hi Coolrunning

Do you mean when the air outside your body is colder than your breath and when you breathe in the cold air it feels like it is burning your chest?

Cheers

Hi Jo, no....there is no burning on breathing in, hard to explain, literally like breathing out fire and can be indoors when the air isn't cold. It isn't 'burning' like heart burn or chest pain. My lungs are generally good at the moment and recovered from bilateral pulmonary embolism, I'm fit and strong, have never smoked, which is why this is so weird. Thanks for answering though :-)

I recognise this. It is an effect I get when a chest infection is brewing. Take care! x

Hi coolrunning

This does seem hard to explain, although i think i may have had something similar - almost feels like my airways are raw!

I have chatted to the nurse who has suggested you speak to your GP about this.

Please let us know how you get on!

Cheers

Jo

I've had the exact same experience. Did you find out the cause for this.

Me too, similar experience- sometimes very hot air... to where people around me cover their mouths and noses. It is very embarrassing as a teacher in front of class where all people up to 3rd row cover their noses, mouths and faces. Also bad smell when I go 3 hours without eating and have to keep eating and brushing to manage being around people (or other people around me). I have wondered if it is lung problem, ENT problem or what??? I am left clueless! Anybody with any ideas where to start treatment?

Hello Auntmaridadi, you have replied here to a very old thread and may not receive any response. I suggest you post a new thread with your problem so all current members will see it.

If you are in the UK I would also suggest you call the BLF Helpline (03000 030 555) for advice. It is available usual office hours Monday to Friday.

Best wishes, Annienell

Thank you Annienell. I will post afresh. I am not in UK... in Africa. I don't know what BLF is... but probably not available in my part of the world anyway. I appreciate the help...

I know I'm late but I've been doing my research and it could possibly be a sign of anxiety.
