The best advice I can give is to ask your local social services for an assessment of need. If the problems are related to not managing stairs or need of a more suitable bathroom, need of a wheelchair, access ramps, etc. they can often help. You can also try asking the NHS for an assessment as they can supply things like suitable beds, mattresses, etc. Good luck.

I got a grant from the local authority that changed the bathroom into a shower room and ramps for wheel chair access to the front doorway (ambulance crew love that) it is there for everybody but it did have a limit on how much savings, cannot remember how much as we do not have much and it did not change what we could get.
