why do i seem to get a cold every month
In my case it is when run down that it happens catching anything that is around. Make sure one thing has cleared up before trying for more trips out among people that carry infections or one infection goes into the next.

My colds just seem to run on for months takes forever to get shot of.....
You might be re-infecting yourself, try chucking your toothbrush everytime you recover from a cold and wiping keyboards, light switches, doorknobs, phone with those throw away dettol wipes.
start taking 'Echinacha' capsules from any health food shop, they build up your immune system, and last not least try saying and believing it...... '' I do not get colds '' and see if that works ,it works for me! even when all the family are coughing and sneezing the 'germs' seem to avoid me lol! The mind is a powerful weapon against colds! I havent caught one for over two years!!give it a go,its worth a try!
great tips
My experiance has been, use that old Mantra, EVERY WAY IN EVERY DAY, I AM GETTING BETTER, AND REALLY BELIEVE IT. My G.P,Said thats a old one, been around for years, There were a quite a few it definatly worked on in his practice Shame it wont get rid of C.O.P.D. and not on colds, well not in my case, Keep on repeating it, Give a go. Good luck,
If you are low in Vitamin D that will lower your resistance. The chances you are low in this sunshine vitamin is low. Get a supplement and your problems should start to ease in a month or so. Remember though, this is not like an aspirin, it take a couple of weeks to do any good.
Many people with lung problems also have problems with their antibody production. I think you should ask to see an immunologist.
I go from one cold, sore throat or chest infection to the next with hardly a break . My family say 'oh you can't be ill again' as if I do it on purpose.
Can you recommended hoe much vit d I should take daily please?
Hi db, I think you could ask for a blood test from the nurse to see if you need it supplementing first and perhaps there would be enough vit D in a multi-vit capsule which might be better, also try drinking fresh orange juice everyday or eating some oranges, great for vit C , which is thought to help with keeping colds away, Carol x
Can definitely recommend Vitamin D3 - (my husband takes 1000 ui once a day)which surely we all must be deficient of this year with the lack of sun in the UK! This has really helped my husband and in winter he always takes Vitamin C. I think it is really difficult when you get into that cycle! If you are at work, I would take hand gel and use it ALL the time - I make everyone use it before they make teas! They think I am mad but it has cut down the colds in winter. If you are taking lots of antibiotics, think about a pro-biotic yoghurt - the antibiotics kill off the "good" bacteria as well as the bad, which can make you more prone to colds etc. Good Luck. TAD xx
