20 years ago, when I was working in the NHS, as a nurse, EVERTBODY was offered at least access to private medical cover. Lower pay-grades had to pay for it, Higher pay-grades got it free.
I was offended by the suggestion that we even needed it, we had a very good system then.
If only I had known what was to come !
I ONLY ASKED THE QUESTION AS A BIT OF SARCASM IT HAS SURPRISED ME AS I DID NOT KNOW THAT IT WAS SO PREVALENT IT DOES NOT SEEM AS IT IS AT ALL PUBLICISED I AM SURE LOT MORE PEOPLE WILL BE UPSET AT PAYING FOR PRIVATE HEALTH CARE THROUGH THEIR TAXES FOR OTHER PEOPLE WHEN THEY CANNOT PAY FOR IT THEMSELVES
I agree --- and I think it **stinks**
Just my personal thoughts - don't intend to offend.

every body is entitled to have there own opinions i totally agree with you i am surprised there has not been more comments
I could ask why would they (if they have to pay for it) because if anyone knows how to "play" the NHS system they do.
If it is paid for them from our taxes of course they will take it.
i dont blame them for taking it i blame the government for giving it maybe as a bribe to keep them quiet using our money
Hi Ponte
Our government, "Red Ping or Blue Pong" dictatorships makes no difference,
are responsible for the mess this country is in now. Who else could it be?
The NHS will be / is being privatised (just as dentistry was).
The money men (many are MPs) want it.
As the world's 4th biggest employer it is a prime target for them.
MPs have been involved in the companies that supply the nhs since the eighties especially cleaning companies and surgical suppliers dave
