This being england in summer means it is not that much of a problem, but can I go out at all?

Is it long term or short, any worries contact your pharmacist (or doctor) bit of info' from Wiki below, over-cast here AGAIN in n/w England, not much chance of sunburn but this stuff does indicate for UV damage, have a look.

Use a protection product with a skin protection factor of 15 or higher. Doxy can produce a kind of sunburn or rash, depending on how you react. Wear sunglasses too, they do seem to help. I get dark bags under my eyes through lack of sleep, they start to go yellow/brown in the sun if I am not careful.

I'm on week 2 of my current course and have not felt the need to 'hide', but I have avoided being in direct sun for too long. No sunbathing as such, or use of sun lamps if the weather is like it was yesterday.

I'm on the doxycycline regularly, a 2 week course roughly every 5 weeks, and I've not shown signs of bad skin pigmentation yet. As always, these things affect different people in different ways. Take precautions and don't go in the sun more than you have to .

richard is on monthly cycles of doxy and he always used to love the sun, as long as he keeps a hat on and arms covered he's fine, worse for a woman with low necks and legs, not low legs lol, legs on show, but maybe a broad rimmed hat, sun cream, lets face it with the weather her you have to grab it while its here.

My daughter took this for a while for her acne and found that she was ok providing she wore a hat, long sleeves and didn't expose too much of her legs. If you take these precautionary measures then there's no reason you shouldn't venture outside, I should imagine.

I'm an avid reader here but not posted before. I am on doxi daily as a maintainence dose. Best tip I can give is be extra careful when traveling as the sun through car/bus windows magnifies and that is when I get burnt most.

Hi Brinnie

Doxy and many other drugs are photosensitive. Yes you can go out, but please don't get a false sense of security regarding the English summer. You just need to take sensible precautions: slapping on factor 50 on your face, covering up and trying to stay in the shade. It's a shame 'cos we need the vitimin D we get from the sun, but like most things it's a balance.

Hope the Doxy help you.
