Hi 1968, i was diagnosed with aspergillosis a few years ago. It is a fungal infection caused by the aspergillus fungus. I was put on an anti-fungal tablet (sorry, I can't remember the name of it), I was on this tablet for a couple of years and my sputum was screened for aspergillus each time I supplied one. I have since been declared clear of the infection and no longer take that particular medication. My sputum is still screened for it, it can return. One thing to be aware of is the fungus is present in damp leaf litter as in Autumn and can also be found in damp living conditions; I contracted it after my flat was flooded from the one above and remained damp for over a month. I hope this bit of information is of help. Regards, Richard.
Hi I recently started taking Itraconazole for a fungus in the lung, (fungus ball in one lung) think the meds are helping chest not as noisy Val
