Hi, wouldn't this be the same as a saline nebuliser? Take care, Richard.

thats really interesting - where can you buy them?

Hi I started using a salt pipe about two weeks ago and think it's making things a little better, I have copd and am willing to try anything to improve my condition.

You can get them on Amazon and Ebay, although Amazon seems cheaper. I got mine from Amazon. I got the Cisca one as I think they are the original ones.

Hi Scotts, this is something I've been interested in for a while. I have read people commenting that they didn't get any benefit from using one and then I've read positive comments like those above. My ex boss retired through COPD and he's told me that he practically lives on the coast now because the sea air does him so much good. I spent the day in Bridlington on Tuesday and yesterday and today I've brought more gunk up than usual in the first hour that I get out of bed. It's been dark green and lumpy and then goes white/clear. I thought that may have been the sea air clearing my airways a bit. I guess the only way to find out is to actually try one!

I tried a salt pipe for a few months and it did not do me any extra good.I used to live in sunny Torquay by the sea but the air was to damp and I really used to suffer.Moved to Nottingham and feel much better. Not every one is the same ,different conditions suitng different people.

Illbeme,

I've used the salt pipe for a few years now and must say it has it's place in my life. I feel the salt does some good but I feel the physio breathing by sucking in deeply helps me clear the lungs quite a bit when I can't do other physio exercises due to osteo arthritis and osteoporosis. Another plus for me is: If I stay away overnight the salt pipe is small enough to pack up and go with me. Going to try Amazon now to replenish my salt bottle as I'm not tasting the salt any more.
