PR assessment tomorrow
Hi Val,
I agree with Stitch You will only have to do as much as you can, I never managed the six mins either. I will be thinking of you tommorow, best wishes Jo
Val, the whole idea is that they measure how far you can walk in 6 minutes so that they can see how much you improve after the pulmonary rehab. My last walk was for 1 minute, 3 minutes rest then about 40 seconds before I gave up. I did improve after the sessions though! Go, do what you can, stop when you have had enough. This is one test you cannot "fail". Good luck.
Thanks x
Hi Val, do go for your preliminary testing, assessment, it will give the team a good idea on how best to help you and also as others have said, just do what you can and don't worry if you can't, but do let them know you monitor your own sats and experience them dropping, just let them know what you have been happening recently.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.
Thanks Zoe
Being new to everything I don't understand what all this means, but take it easy Val and try not to worry about it, which takes more of your energy, just do what you can and take all the help going.xxx
Thank you started antibiotics breathing is not good will let you know later how I do Val x
Don't worry it is just to assess - my husband couldn't do 6 minutes! It was just to assess at the beginning and the end so that you can hopefully see an improvement!! Try to go I am sure it will help you. Good Luck TAD xx
Yes I am going was a bit worried though, thought yesterday no way can I do 6 mins walking, frightened of making a fool of myself hate getting out of breath in front of others thank you Val x
I hope the staff who are running it are as lovely as those that ran my husbands course. Take care. Good luck TAD xx

The support on this site is enough to give one the courage to attempt to walk on water.Just go on out there and do what you can. They are there for you
Hi there valm, I wonder if thats what my physio was doing with me last time I saw him, he asked me to walk up and down a corridor as may times at my own pace as I could but told me to stop when I had had enough. I think I managed to do it 5 or 6 times before I was out of breath, he was constantly checking my oxygen levels throughout. He did`nt tell me it was a walking test but I just wonder if it was. Anyway good luck, keep your chin up and just do your best
Regards Linda.
