Thanks everyone .Its just such a strange colour that i thought id ask .Its yellow with streaks of orange through it ,very strange.

Hi Stitch hes asleep at the mo, which is good as hes not sleeping well at all.He came downstairs yesterday as my mum told him i was going over and if no better taking him to the hospital.He was not happy at all so came down to show me hes getting better ! i wasnt convinced, i could see he was still in pain. He even went and sneaked one of his valium ,which he is now only having at night ,just so he could come downstairs!!

I no and i couldnt force him.I got upset thats prob why he was acting like he was ok ,he even offered to make ME a cup of tea ! I suppose im just trying to do all i can and that hes having all the help hes supposed to have .When he says hes got a pain and i can see him holding it i just feel like more can be done to help him .

This is frightening in the past there has been blood in my mouth my doctor said it was because of coughing but

1.blood-streaked sputum - inflammation of throat, bronchi; lung cancer;

2.Pink sputum - sputum evenly mixed with blood, from alveoli, small bronchi;

3.massive blood - cavitary tuberculosis of lung, lung abscess, bronchiectasis, infarction, embolism.

Will have to speak to doctor as soon as possible thanks Stitch.

kind regards Ethel

Hi Watery

Its always best to get checked if you have blood in sputum. So well done for checking in with him/her, Its not always the worst case senario, to be sure its not is always good to know. Hope you are feeling reassured soon.

Dear Sam - I hope your Dad is feeling better soon and this current course of anti-bios is doing the job.

Auntymary x

Best getting it checked out than using doctor google

I've had streaks of blood in mine before and sometimes when I've coughed I've tasted blood even though I didn't bring any up. I had a chest x-ray which showed clear. My Dr just said that as my x-ray was clear there wasn't anything to worry about. I don't get the blood or the taste anymore.

Worry first time see some blood used to it now dark brown lumps of dry blood is normal for me with yellow stuff

Telephone consultation with my doctor has explained that when coughing is really hard some blood vessels in the lung can burst leaving a little blood. No need to worry if there was anything else it would have shown on x ray. Learnt a little about things feel there will be more to do.

kind regards Ethel
