Springtime is coming along nicely πππ€π

stunning. You donβt get that here in mid Texas, too darn hot. I really miss Spring in England ππ
Oh didn't realise you were from England originally... How do you cope in the heat π₯΅
Air conditioning π€ͺBeen here since 1991, husband was in USAF so we retired here. Itβs not too bad, we live in San Antonio which is quite pretty. ππ
I'm from Sydney ................ gee how I miss the heat and humidity. Now residing in Cornwall, UK, weather is totally crap. 1 day sun, 6 days rain or dense cloud cover.
Aw, I'm in Cornwall too, it has been a particularly crap winter this year, but I think that goes for everyone everywhere. I used to thrive in hot and humid too, but can't take it now, feel like I'm being suffocated. I know it rains an awful lot here but wouldn't want to be anywhere else but Cornwall now. I think what you see some countries have had to contend with the last few years, I'm not going to complain about more grey days than I'd like. One plus: a miserable winter makes the Spring colours really pop! Enjoy it, wherever you are good people. πππxx
Hiya PaperQueen,
Thanks for bringing me down to earth π
Thing is I've been spoilt, I've spent over 45 years of my life in Australia, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. Mind you, when I was a kid and we came down to the south west for holidays, usually Whitsun week, we always had sunshine. But now this sort of weather is so unpredicatable.
That said, when I arrived in Sydney in 1967 the weather was always dead set to be hot and sunny, even winter was sunny but not hot. Over the years though the weather in Oz has changed with much more rain, cyclones and flooding and, to a degree, unpredicatable.
So in summary, Cornwall is winter weather on the one hand, and trapped in our homes in summer because of tourists on the other hand. π±π±πππ
π€£True! I'm in SE Cornwall on a peninsula so luckily most of the tourists zip past us on the A30 or A38 heading SW. We don't go down Cornwall all during the school holidays. Luckily there are a couple of local beaches that the tourists haven't found yet or that are too much of a climb (though I can't get to them anymore either), but it is frustrating to to go anywhere in summer. Ah well, life is full of compromises! π xx (I'd love to go to Oz but fear my travelling days are largely over)
Beautiful.only snowdrops here x
Aah thank you! Iβm struggling at the moment and that has really cheered me up. So beautiful π
On Saturday we went to Nymans (National Trust) and there were hundreds of crocus, daffodils, tiny cyclamen, hellebores out. Also camelias - and the magnolias were almost out too. It was beautiful after the couple of weeks of mostly fine weather we've had. It seemed that spring had arrived suddenly and with stunning beauty. My pics aren't clear enough to post so it's lovely to see yours on here this morning, lifting our spirits once again!
Xx Moy
Oh wow BB, what a joy to see., thank you for sharing. We have had a few really good warm days here in Manchester, and must admit I have had to dig deep to get myself together for spring chores in the garden. It's such hard work now but am sure it does me the world of good to be outside excersing . I have limited myself this year, just doing a couple of hours each day x
Arenβt they lovely. We have a lot in our village it really gives you a boost.
Theyβre gorgeous. A ray of brightness -love looking at the flowers bursting into life at the mo xx
That's so pretty. Your crocuses are forwarder than ours and the east wind is blowing today to discourage them from popping up. xxxx
Great picture, thank you.
Beautiful Crocus, such a lovely flower, showing us that Spring is here. x Lovely photo.
