They are originally from China and Japan but were brought over here some time ago . apparently there's 44 thousand pairs around Scotland the South West and East of England....

When they mate it's for life and not very often seen as they have nests in broken of tree trunks that are quite well hidden 😍

He's gorgeous. For many years we had one in the local park on the same lake where the lonely swan lived. I took his photo (in black and white) on my box camera.

I still have that camera and an even older box camera inherited from my mother, but as soon as I could afford it I bought a 'proper' camera. I've gone through several cameras since then, finally kicking and screaming into the digital age. I caught the photography bug at a very early age. xxx
