Just back from my regular respiratory hospital appt where I was told in a sputum test last year mycobacterium was found.I have bronchiectasis.
This explained why I was having episodes of coughing blood.
I had it back in 2021 but now I am to be monitored to see if it gone or not. Hopefully it's gone but if not more treatment is needed. Anyone have similar happen to them?, my doctor did say he has a few patients that are undertaking treatment.

It's good to hear a positive outcome. The junior doctor sitting in on my appt said 'you won't feel well on the treatment ' not sure that's the right thing to say to a patient. Thanks for your reply and I'm glad your well.
I just have to send a few sputum samples over the next couple of months as I had it back in 2021 and it cleared.
It is very difficult to pick up in a Sputum sample and quite a few need to be handed in.The other thing I should say is that my MRI scans showed lung nodules, which are also a sign of NTM infection.
