hi everyone I was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis 2 years ago. I have only just come to terms with it after being ill for nearly 2 months & being admitted to hospital. I didn’t have chest infection I had pains in my lungs like I can only describe as it felt like a hard rock jumping from one lung to another. Then pains down my Brest bone into my breast. I have now come home from with oramorph which I won’t tell you my thoughts & I don’t take unless I really need to .
I would really appreciate other people thoughts. Thank you

I'm allergic to morphine so take a substitute, Oxycodone/oxynorm. I find the small doses prescribed daily work well at helping to manage breathlessness. I appreciate its not beneficial for everyone.
I’ve had chest infections before so had antibiotics & steroids prescribed however since October 2024 I had pain in my left lung which was I can only describe as a large stone thudding in my lung. I didn’t know where to put myself. Since the beginning of January I have been really ill & it has given me a wake up call & I have had come to terms with this thing. I haven’t anyone I can speak to & I am going out of my mind
I’ve only just started taking oramorph when I was admitted to hospital, it frightened me when they said this as I worked at a gp surgery & alarm bells started ringing. It has helped I only take it when I have to.
