Sorry i put the wrong first letter . it shoud be FLOUOXTINE not as i wrote it sorry
Hi 👋 Fluoxetine is Prozac, which I think was the first ever SSRI. It won’t work straightaway but in a few weeks you should start to feel less anxious and your low mood will improve. Some people get side effects at first (read the leaflet) but these usually subside after a few days. An important thing to remember with any SSRI is that if you feel WORSE, you must stop them & contact your dr. Some people can become suicidal on them, but they’re in the minority. I do hope you feel better soon x
I have severe COPD and take Lorazapam. The dose is very low 0.5 mg. I've had no side effects and also I refused to take some as they can be a problem if you want to stop. Lorazapam 0.5.g I take when required xx.Sheila
I was prescribed Flouoxtine before Christmas. It did nothing for me.
I take Escitalopram 10mg which is good for me. I took Prozac years ago until it stopped working. Then when I went back on it years later, I had bad side effects so stopped. You should be fine with it I’m sure but there are lots of others to try if need be. Make a note of the brand you take and record any side effects and do the same every time you get a different brand. Different brands have different side effects.
Escitalpram has given me a definite lift. The first week that I took it, however, I experienced an increase of my symptoms and was ready to give it up, until I read that this does sometimes happen and usually subsides in a week or so!
