Apparently as a fresh gang of effusion has decided to gate crash the party and deflated my right lung the docs are debating this morning the merits of carrying out a “Pleurodesis” procedure which involves several chest cavity cuts and a camera crew being sent in to find out exactly where this undesirable gang are from and what’s their agenda.
Now the fun part!
When they do identify the weak area etc they plan to use Talcum Powder to seal up the area to stop further incursions.
Anyone else come across this fragrant approach?
Will obviously ( assuming I make the cut) update y’all later.

You will make the cut so l wait to hear how it all pans out. Not heard of the talc approach but I’m sure the docs know what they’re doing. Good luck to you. Xxxx❤️😘
oh Mr.B so sorry to hear you are still going through an awful time. Fingers cross the doc’s will sort you out this time and that the talc does the trick.
Hope to hear some better news from you soon. Will be thinking of you
I have not heard of this but I’m really sorry to know you’re having such a rough time at the moment. Although you do make it sound like there’s a camera crew going in to film a David Attenborough wildlife documentary in your lung 🤭
Sending you lots of good wishes. We’ll eagerly await your update about how it all went.
I wonder which talc they use! I'm not trivialising your health but that was my first thought. I hope it's successful and you begin to feel better shortly.
Hello. In 2023 my left lung collapsed 4 times during a hospital stay of 3 mths. I underwent pleurodesis twice. They did know where my lung was collapsing from because it had never been reinflated properly after a carfiologist punctured my lung putting in a pacemaker in 2021. The talcum powder was inserted via the drsin tube which was in my lung. They insert the powdrr then they seal off the tube and a wait of about 40 mins whilst it creates the inflammation which sticks the lung back to the wall. The first time that I had it done it collapsed again. They were worried that I was so ill thatt I wouldn't survive a second go but my con told them you don't know her. If she agrees go ahead. The second doc was much more confident and decisive with putting in the talc. It worked. I came home in july 2023 and there are no gaps showing on my scans now.I do have to say that it was the most painful thing that I have ever had done. Especially when they seal off the tube and the inflammation starts. My darling daughter sat with me all through twice and I mentally put myself elsewhere. It was definitely worth it and If done properly should solve the problem.
I hope that helped. Good luck. Let me know how you get on
A member of my help team told me yesterday that they don’t use Talcum Powder any more. I used to swamp myself in it after a shower. For internal use only now eh? You are having fun there MrB.
You're certainly having to cope with a lot Mr B. Best wishes, I'll await your update after the rather perplexing and surprising procedure. Stay strong and don't let the bu****s get down. xx
