Yes, he is doing quite nicely considering the circumstances, thank you. Smudge has lived me for slsome time as a house cat and we have developed a great friendship. However I have lived in my house for a very long time and it is has developed some age related problems which needed urgent attention has I have myself. So I’ve been having to have them seen to. As other elderly oldies living alone will have found, having workmen in the house can be stressful. So far I’ve had new gates, new boiler, new shower and today a new toilet. I shall have to live until well over 100 to get value for all this expense and will be trying to do that , so don’t give up on me just yet. Don and Smudge xx
Aww brilliant im so happy to know your doing well I love reading your poem's allways look forward to know your doing ok xx
I agree very stressful but when all over you will be reaping the benefits. Stay warm and snug both. xx
Oooo I'm glad I'm not the only one. My Flat is falling apart but dread the thought of having people in to do things. We all miss you and think about you Don when you don't post for a few days. But you've obviously had a lot to cope with 😱. Love to Smudgy boy xxx
Ooh ouch that is expensive Don and messy jobs. Hopefully by Christmas all this will be over and your house tidy again x
Aww bless you Don. A lot of work there. X
All done now and I can relax. I don't take part in the Christmas activities anymore but do enjoy sitting back watching others enjoying themselves. Some folk find that hard to believe thinking I might be lonely, but they will understand when they get really old themselves. 😉x
I enjoy my grandkids opening presents but I also enjoy my own company on and off I call it my Me time x
I'm only 62 I know what you mean when you say you can enjoy just watching others enjoying them selves I'm the same I don't have to take part to enjoy whats around
It seems Don is doing good and looking forward to all workmen leaving him and Smudge in peace. Hopefully soon. Xxx👍🩷
I had started to write 'Good-bye to an old friend' whilst waiting for the plumber to start work but thought better of it. 🤣
As i sit here on the toilet
In a contemplative mood
Remembering all the good times
Not wishing to be crude
We don't let you sit and contemplate for long Don!
I'm still waiting for a shower. . . . . . 14 months now 🙄🤬 Imagine a house in 2023 with no shower, and the housing association are still whingeing!!
Glad you're ok Don 😘 xx
Getting jobs done is like wading through treacle these days. It costs the earth yet they treat you as if they are doing you a favour. 🙄
So right! I have to say though, that there is a new breed of "operatives" (awful expression!) from my housing association. They are polite and informative, even nice and cheerful! It is the management that don't seem to be able to organise a p**s up in a brewery!
Enjoy your new loo! xx
As an old lady living alone I find that getting qualified tradesmen to do smaller jobs is virtually impossible and everyone but me seems to know a chap down the road who can do anything at a reasonable price.
Bless that is so nice that there are folk on here looking out for others , I really like this site and groups , and I have learnt so much regarding my COPD / stage 4 when I get stressed I log into here and there’s always someone to chat to. Thanks
