In the wild up to 20 years and on protection up to 40 years ... These are protected within the forest area same swans year after year 😍
Long ago there was a swan pair in one of the local parks, until sadly vandals killed the pen as she sat on her nest. The male bird was bereft. A year or two later the authorities found him a new young mate. He would not have her- just chased her off his pond. Eventually the authorities took him off to another park, which had a big lake, and found a new mate for the young bird. The male remained a lonely widower for the rest of his days.

Beautiful photo. Swans are amazing to see out of the water like that. Is she protecting her brood? Probably wrong time of year for babies but it looks (to me) like she's warning you not to come any closer. xxx
She was doing a wing flap nothing more ...Her cygnets who hatched in April are fully fending for themselves now ...So she was stretching... My position was over 40 foot away and my camera had the long lens on it ...I would never get so close as what you think .. these swans are protected to the pond and as a local it would be beyond me to get so close 🙂

They can if on a sanctuary safe place like these ones they use the same nest each year to ... they clean and build it up before hatching happens xx in the wild they maybe live 12 to 20 years old x

Me neither. One bit my finger when I was a kid (just about remember that long ago). I remember it hurt a lot.
I remember my brother was trying to tame a horse in the next field he managed over months to ride it one day the horse just buckled and all we saw was him holding on for dear life as the horse was racing away 😂I’m sure he thought h was John Wayne 😂😂 we did laugh about it after even though he broke several ribs and a clip around the ear from mum for trying to ride it to soon in the first place x😂😂

Yes they can snap with those beaks they don't have teeth but the beak has serated edges they can do some damage ... the edges are like sharp scissors ✂️ 😱

you do take the most beautiful photo . i know you have a a good camera . it does help but you have to know how to use it and then get get the right exposure . have to override the camera settings sometimes too ti achieve what you see .
