Just that really. I love this group and the people on here with so much advice and encouragement. I was petrified when I was first diagnosed but their words of wisdom, experience and positivity were a godsend. This post is a just a thank you to you all . I read the posts of newly diagnosed COPD’s and the posts of advice and positivity never wavers. The regular posters who reply are amazing. Have a great day.. ❤️💖💐🌻

What a lovely post Iris. It’s good to know that the wonderful people on here have helped you and others come to terms with their diagnosis. It can be very scary but we’re all here for each other.

Enjoy your day and hope you have some sunshine. Xxx❤️

This is such a lovely post Iris. I have other lung issues rather than COPD, but there’s always someone around to give thoughtful and helpful advice.

Hi ,I was the same very scared, thought grim reaper be at my door when I opensd it.No1 to talk to and Google no help made you feel worse.

I joined this group and everyone made me feel welcome and understood my fears and made me feel life still goes on and can live for years with emphysema.

Lovely post Iris30! I think many of us received such wonderful support & guidance on first joining. We know what it can be like and perhaps just want to give a little back 🤗 💐

That is so nice to hear and I agree totally 😊 It is support, advice and information from the lovely people here that has given me the confidence and knowledge to ask the right questions of my consultants and to understand their replies! I really don't know where I would be now if I hadn't come across this forum xx

Stay positive, Laurie xx

Absolutely agree. There is so much knowledge on here that, in my experience, our health professionals simply do not offer and perhaps do not have.

I totally agree Iris - I'm quite new too, just diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis, I was all over the place, and a bit hysterical, tbh!! Everyone was lovely, giving advice and so supportive, it's fantastic to have this forum, and know help is always there xx

I've been lurking in the background here for about 4 years, every day reading posts, and quietly soaking up all the help and advice others have given.Every day I've been tempted to post something, just to say HI really, but the message from Iris30 mirrored my sentiments so exactly, I just had to acknowledge it.

Every time I open the group's notification email, and read all the comments, it's like popping out for coffee with friends - comfortably comforting.

Thank you all

Stay safe

I am another one who reads everyday but has posted only a couple of times. This forum has been especially helpful in knowing which questions to ask consultants etc. Thank you all so much.

Hi Iris, I totally agree with you. When I was a newbie on this site, not very long ago, everyone was so supportive, kind, informative as well as fun and uplifting. All made me feel so welcome. I became a very active member and although I don't input much at present (due to my health having gone downhill quite quickly) I still value this forum and hope to become more active again soon if my health picks up a bit. Take care 😊xxxx
