well, successfully settled into my new house since moving day on 31st July. Downstairs loo is something I give thanks for daily!! And a shower cubicle I can use a stool in & sit down to shower - sheer heaven!. Dog walks are all on the level too.
Lungs-wise, I had a letter from my previous Welsh consultant to hand in to my new GP to smooth over the handover to local Respiratory Team. On 28th August I had a new chest CT scan in local hospital here, and on the NHS England App I can read the results for myself - although my new GP did phone me too!!
The pulmonary nodule in my right lung, which they were monitoring, has grown, and has been joined by quite a few other friends which are 'undefined and with halo'. 'Linear atelectasis in left lung, and bilateral apical scarring'. GP is chasing up my referral to Respiratory team. Previous consultant's letter notes that my total Ige has increased from 100 to 366, and there is a definate sensitivity to Aspergillus ( which I have been telling them since 2009!).
My fatigue is getting worse by the month. But I have more confidence that answers and help will be forthcoming in the near future now I have moved house. The Welsh NHS just left me dangling for two YEARS between consultant appointments and GP surgery just enjoyed passing the buck on a regular basis. We shouldn't have this "postcode lottery" anymore.
Better get myself wrapped up in my big coat and take Tigger out for his morning walk - not that he's looking at all keen at the moment, bless him.
EDIT ON 10TH SEPT. HAVE RECEIVED APPOINTMENT WITH RESPIRATORY CLINIC FOR 19TH SEPTEMBER. I've been living here less than 6 weeks, am totally gobsmacked..................!!! Well done my local Health Authority.

It sounds as if you have had a lovely smooth transfer to your new home. I’m just having my house altered so that I can incorporate a downstairs loo, and a shower too incase my Victorian terrace gets too much and I have to do downstairs living.
Well done Tigger, that's totally brilliant news about your successful move and efficiency of already getting nhs support (not so great about the nodules but at least it seems you'll now be looked after.
Re the tiredness, I sold up in Wimbledon in 2014 & after a 6 month stay in Cassis, France near my son I bought in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. They say its one of the most stressful things we can live through - I'm pretty sure it took nearly two years to fully recover from my move......the loss of old life, friends and familiarity. ......downside of my big move was my new GP was/is a huge disappointment.
I've been trying to sell my home now for two years on & off to move east near to some of my family. My daughter & family never have issues getting an appointment at their surgery in Ely, Cambridgeshire. I'm dreading the actual move but financial needs must but cannot wait to live in Ely and see my grandchildren everyday.
hi peege. Yes, I can empathise! Some of my friends in Wales simply thought I was bonkers adding the stress of a house move to two bereavements. But if I hadnt of done it now, I think I would have got myself stuck!! My new GP here was simply aghast at how badly the Welsh NHS had let me down. It WAS stressful moving, but the new house has everything I wanted, and feels so much warmer & drier than my old one too. Good luck with your moving. X
Glad to hear your house move has proved to be positive in every way! Forty years ago, we moved to our bungalow - the biggest draw at the time was that it had a 'downstairs' loo!
I'd been having treatment for a severely swollen knee - cause unknown - and had been off work for a few weeks to rest it. We were living in a three bed house with only one loo, which was upstairs. I struggled so much in those few weeks that it made me appreciate how difficult it must be for my father and father-in-law to visit us as both had issues with the stairs.
So when we decided to move, we hunted for a house with two loos, but could find nothing in our price range. Then, one day, I got a phone call at work. My husband had heard from the agents that there was a bungalow for sale and, because it had been on the market with an incompetent agent for over a year, the price was affordable!
We made the move in 1984 and have loved living here but when I started to get severe vertigo attacks, bathing became dangerous, so we had our small bathroom converted to a wet room. We then managed to fit in an extra loo!
It has made a world of difference to us and, now that we are in our older years, we are so glad that we made the move all those years ago.
I hope that you remain as happy with your move as we are with ours! Enjoy your downstairs loo and the benefits of a good doctor!
thanks! It certainly has made a difference. I think I was causing myself bladder issues by putting off trips up the stairs to go to the loo at the old house. Here I have to walk all of 10 steps from the sofa!!! Xx
So pleased for you that the move has gone well and that you now have a decent gp. I am blessed to have a downstairs loo which I have been very grateful for in the last few years, it makes all the difference not climbing the stairs when you are not well or recovering from hip ops x
Brilliant to have such a big move behind you now and you can start to explore and enjoy a new life, with what sounds like good health services. Northumberland is wonderful, will be lovely fresh air and good walks for you and Tigger. 😁all the best Sally
Ah it's great that your house move has proved so beneficial. You have such a lot to deal with health wise but great to know that your local resp. team are right behind you and getting things moving👍. Take care and keep us posted 😊❤️xxx
