I’ve just posted about oxygen I’m on 3L portable and omg it does feel like the end. I struggle to carry it for more than 20 minutes as it feels heavy. I can’t advise but I truly feel for you

Hi Hometeam, I have a couple of bags for my oxygen. One carry rucksack type which I'd use if I was just nipping to a friend's or to a supermarket etc and a trolley type on wheels if I was doing a bit more walking. I usually take that one to the gym. What do you do for work? Apparently they can set up a concentrator at your place of work if it's suitable.

I have an inogen portable concentrator. I bought a ruck sack for it as bag provided too heavy on one shoulder and easily slips off., but carrying it is a chore and very wearing. I’ve been told I cannt have a trolley as it’s already portabable!

There is a trolly designed for the Inogen but I suspect you will have to purchase it yourself, your oxygen provider won’t supply them

I currently have the standard oxygen cylinders with a trolley indoors and a rucksack when out and about. I use a rollator which takes the cylinder or my mobility scooter, if I’m on the scooter I can turn the oxygen off as it’s classified as sitting down. It’s tough at first being stuck with some device with tubes connected to your nose, but that cylinder is giving you a bit more energy and protecting your internal organs. My oxygen nurse told me to treat it as any other medication

Hi Hometeam,

Sorry to read you are having a difficult time. I have just replied to pepparuby and her post.

I am on 4/5 litres/ per min ambulatory only.

I have liquid oxygen for use outside- filling a small flask from a large tank. It works for me.

Have you discussed things with your home oxygen team ?

DM me if you need to.

Go well,

Pauline

I had a similar problem and I reduced my cylinders to the 300 size which fit in a small rucksack which I bought. I also have the 400 type cylinder which fits into a trolley type thing ( looks like a portable suitcase ) I am on 4 lpm

The rucksack is used for small journeys to supermarkets etc.

my provider is Baywater who are excellent and provide pretty much everything I want or need.

I hope you get the right type of carrier as it does help

regards

Brian

I hope you find something suitable. I dread ever having to go on oxygen- the weight would bear me down.
