Portable oxygen

Hi my mum seems to think that it isn’t possible for her to have a portable oxygen Imogen with a paediatric flow. She is on 0.5 if that makes sense? Just wondering if anyone knows if this is the case as I’d like to take her out for the day. Thank you

Hi

Speak with your respitory/ oxygen team to check if she would be ok on one lpm, which is the lowest setting.

Can your mother not use the paediatric cylinders as supplied by you oxygen provider, there are smaller in size than the standard cylinders, with a conserver (pulse dose) will last a considerably long time on 0.5lpm.

On continuous at 0.5lpm will last 10hrs 16min subject to breathing rate.

Weight is 2,1kg to 2,6 kg equal to or less than a portable unit.

I have the small oxygen bottles which you carry on a bag and I am on 0.5. Speak to respiratory department they should be able to arrange for this to go through quickly.
