30 a day now!

Had my letter from the PH consultation in Sheffield Hallamshire earlier this year and on their it stated I should get my GP to put me on Iron Tablets on top of 50% increase in my sildenafil. Normally it is like asking for their login details to their bank? But it went without any problems. The only strange thing was they have a new rule on prescriptions that you cannot order more than the dates will allow? So, when I picked them up, I had 3 months' supply?

I now take 30 tablets a day!

I also went down with Covid start of the month had 4 days of feeling unwell but just got a persistent cough now?

Stay well

Not fun taking a load of pills is it Offcut? I take about 25 a day pls Morphine and 8 Paracetamol.

Feel for you with COVID, I remember mine, missed an op and it lasted 2 weeks.

Keep as well as you can.

It did not affect me as much as I thought it would by any means. Maybe all the jabs I had?

If I was still on Tramadol it would be 36 tabs

iBetter of without Tramadol, made me weird - I take 3 or 4 oral syringes of morphine instread. Wished I took nonthing, it's like a conver belt with pills/

I went on a course though my GP to get me off opioids and it worked for me my pain when on Tramadol and now I am off them completely is no different. yes there is pain but I know how to deal with it now.

Good for you, shows it can be done. With Morphine I take when needed. my spine curve has gone, and my cervical spine deteriating. Codiene had stopped working. I get no kick from morphine at all.

google USA opioid crisis

Ern007 in reply to Offcut

There has been an opioid crises in the US for a whileit used used to be Oxycodone available on the streets and near double the strength of Morphine.

The bid killer now is fentanyl which is 100 times stronger than morphine, there is abuse in UK also.

You can't compare the 5 or 10 mg every four hours Doctor prescribed if needed - to the black market drugs.

How many people are killed with smoke Tars , alcahol abuse I wonder?

Good to hear from you, Offcut. Years ago, I made the decision to take the meds and get the best life I could; but the number you take, takes the biscuit! Hope you have a speedy recovery from covid x

That's a lot of tablets - remembering when to take them all must be hard. Ern & Pete have to take loads as well! Take care xxx

My mobile is my tablet reminder though the day. My 7-year-old granddaughter will pipe up as soon as it goes off "Tablet Time Grandpa!"

Hope the Covid cough soon ckears up Offcut. Taking over 200 tablets a week is a real pain, but as you say, keeps us going. I use the dosset boxes for my mountain of morning, afternoon and evening tablets. Also on Sildenafil and Bosentan as well as so many others. Take care. Jackie x

Offcut profile image
Offcut in reply to OOB_Tigger

Yes, they increased my Sildenafil from 50mg 3x a day to 75mg 3 x a day I was on ambrisentan at the very start but they then they found I did not need it as I am not showing any Endothelin? all the others are mainly for my heart and lung failure.

OOB_Tigger profile image
OOB_Tigger in reply to Offcut

They increased my dose to 100mg 3x per day, been told that's the maximum. Like you, I take medication for my heart (born with a problem, which then lead to weakened, inefficient lungs). Since major water retention in 2022 I'm now also on 7 diuretics a day, plus another one twice a week. It's keeping the fluid off so have to be grateful for modern medicine. 'Count your blessings and make the most of every day.'

Take care. Jackie x

I have fluid on my lungs but I cannot take diuretics! Within an hour of taking them I feel like I have been punched in the kidneys. I ended up having to go on a ward and they did trials with different ones not one was pain free!

OOB_Tigger profile image
OOB_Tigger in reply to Offcut

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that Offcut. Must be quite difficult for you. How do they manage the fluid build up?It would be handy if we could have a tap and just drain it off each night.

Take care

I had 2 chest drains in 2008 First day they got 3.5 litres then about a litre a day there after!

Good to hear from you again Offcut and glad you are doing reasonably well. Glad too to hear COVID did not affect you too badly. Take care.

Funny enough I had a Faceache reminder of an old post today that showed positive on a covid antibody test 3 years ago! So maybe all those jabs helped me in the end?

Be well
