Hi all hope your all keeping well.I wanted to ask if anyone else is or has had
Immunoglobulin treatment. I already have bronchectasis in both lungs and asthma i also has a lung segmentation on my left lung and had some relief for a few years but after that was constantly suffering with infection after infection and feeling really rubbish even after treatment . I started to experience several other symptoms blood shot eye . Hair loss and feeling like I was constantly fighting something .
My white blood cells were constantly showing inflammation. And recently my iron dropped loads including my folic . My haematologist ran several tests and found that I have a gene that indicates my body attacks it's self so is constantly in a state of inflammation.
So I started immunoglobulin treatment.
We are going to see how this works and if my symptoms improve .
If not they may need to look at my bone marrow.
I just wanted to see how others have felt or has anyone experienced anything similar.

I do weekly immunoglobulin injections. My low immunoglobulin levels were caused by the biologics that I had for my autoimmune disease. At the same time I started my treatment pseudomonas was also identified as the bug that was causing my constant infections. Preventative treatment for pseudomonas and the immunoglobulin have greatly reduced the number of infections that I’ve had since. The immunoglobulin isn’t an instant fix it takes a while to build up. It’s very expensive so your doctor wouldn’t have given it to you if he didn’t think it would help. Good luck I hope it helps you.
I also have Bronchiectasis with asthma. Like you, I was always fighting off infections. My doctor had my immune system checked out. My immune system isn't as it should be.
As a result, every 4 weeks, I go to the outpatient infusion dept at my local hospital and get hooked up to an IV for about 3 hours. The med is to up my immune system. It may take a few months to notice results, but it's been over 10 yrs and I've had every few infections.
Two years ago, I became very tired and had abdominal pain, x rays showed a bowel blockage. Went into the hospital, did all kinds of tests. It wasn't until the surgeon did an exploratory surgery that it was my appendix. Because of my high immune system, I did not show the signs (fever and vomiting).
your immune system can make a difference in your health, Beth
Thank you that's exactly what I will be doing every 4 weeks . It's good to know that it helped . Because feeling tired all thd time and just generally like your fighting something is really awful. Keeping an open mind and fingers crossed 🤞.
