Morning everyone

Just looking for some advice as i was switched onto Relvar 184/22 last week following an appointment with Specialist .

I was on Symbicort 200/6 but since taking for the last 4 days my Peak Flow has plummeted and got cough and nasal congestion .

Is this just temporary and should i persevere ?

Any comments /advice greatly appreciated

Hello, I've been on Relvar Ellipta 92/22 for years. I didn't notice any ill effects when I was switched from my previous inhaler and it seems to suit me. I'm afraid I have no idea how long you should wait to see if it kicks in, but we are all different, so get back to your health team if the trouble persists.

Hi, Not sure I can help you really. About 10 years ago I was on lower dose Relvar lower dose and Incruse, then after about 3 years I was changed to Trelegy. Within a few months the Asthma component of my Asthma COPD came to the fore and I was really unwell for a few months whilst I waited for a referral and appointment to see the consultant. When I did see him he changed my meds there and then to higher dose Relvar 184/22 and Incruse again. Since then these inhalers have remained the same and I still take the higher dose which seems to suit me.

Of course if you are still concerned then I imagine you will go back to the prescriber and report how you are feeling.

I hope things resolve for you soon.

Go well,

Pauline

last year I was switched on to Relvar Ellipta 184/22. I haven’t noticed any more nasal congestion than before, or any more coughing than before, except when I take the inhaler, which always makes me cough. I still haven’t really got the hang of it. It’s the first time I’ve had a powder inhaler. If you’re not feeling any worse then it’s possibly worth persevering with it for a while because some people say it can take a couple of weeks for an inhaler to start taking effect. I can’t say that I feel any better since starting this inhaler but I don’t feel any worse, other than in recent weeks a new thing has started whereby I get breathless getting into bed and it takes a while to recover. I’ve no idea what that’s about or why it’s started. Best wishes to you.
