Magic Night Garden.

I am posting an extra one this week as I would like opinions on this painting.

It is in part abstract and I realise this will not be every ones cup of tea.

Anyone who finds this to much, no worries I am curious what people think.

personally I like it very much. It looks like a scene in the countryside that’s been lit up by torchlight, and the night sky above.

Thank you HungryHufflepuff - I did try and make it mysterious, it abstract but not full blown. I was experimenting with borders, with the right painting it can look good. It does look a bit like torchlight, I can see that .

Did you paint the border on? I thought it was a frame. It looks really good.

It also looks like the grass and trees are moving in the wind. I really like this painting.

I put good art tape on all four sides of canvas - and that kept the sides clear while I painted in the black. Thank you for you comment .

Thank you Carole - I used to paint like this to some extent, I wanted to try the tape for keeping the edges white. The Pink is Magenta , Vermillion green, Permanent yellow. The main colours. Xxx

I like this one a lot, Ern. The trees look like they’ve been lit from below to me and the way you’ve painted them, in contrast to the flowers and grass in the foreground, gives them an interesting sense of movement. A good idea with the border, too.

I love it and would be happy to have it on a wall in my house. The more I look at it the more I see. The black sky and stars gives it an air of mystery.

Hi Ern, I think it's great 😊👍and wish I looked out of my window at that lovely night scene rather than the street lights and a busy road😅. It must take great skill to depict the individual petals on the flowers like you have. xxx

Thank you Nula2 - I did the painting not knowing what would come, when the green had been created - I took care not to overdo the flowers, or I think the mood would have gone, so not that many flowers to paint. xxx

Thank you. I have done a fair bit of fantast art on here,Itry not to be creepy. that can make it dark and spoil the effects. x

Thank you 50shadesofgrey - I inch and 1/2 fan brush to get the wispy effect - The same brush upwards on it side to create the greenery. The plants painted with a detail brush, needed a lot of layers with the dark colours so dominant.. xx

I luv this Ern and like the white border against the night sky.the whole thing captures me,wondering what goes on when we aren't there - do some of the little flowers in the distance have eyes..or is my imagination playing tricks x

Thank's Pat - What caused that effect there was not many flowers, some at the back and not in focus. It really is an illusion that causes some to see eyes. It happens in this type of paining Pat x

Thank you Pat. I do like painting on a black canvas as it makes colours pop - On this one I did not do that or it would have altered the mood. . xx
