I am due to have my first injection of Tezepelumab in 2 weeks and wondered if others had any experience. I am quite worried about it. My asthma had been controlled for over 30 years but suddenly, since covid, has become severe. Most of the new meds I was given didn't make a difference and I had a number of courses of prednisalone which helped for the duration but I now have long term effects. Perhaps others have had a similar experience.

sorry - not heard of it so looked it up on wiki. Its a fairly new drug used for when your usual asthma meds are not working so well. Did your doc explain much about it to you? I hope you find a good improvement in your asthma and let us know how you get on - all the best.

I didn’t see the doctor but the pharmacist who explained a bit about it but it was it was uncertain whether I would be put forward, it was then offered quite quickly and I asked to speak to a doctor before the injection so that I could be clear about side effects, long term use etc. I’ve found some research but as you say it’s quite new, at least in the U.K. I spoke to my gp but he hadn’t heard of it.

Thank you for your wishes.

Hi, have no personal experience of it but know someone who has been self injecting for about a year or a bit more. She feels it has changed her life in that she can do so much more and has much less attacks and hospital admissions. She says only down side is that she has put on a bit of weight. Good luck.

Thanks for responding, appreciated. That’s very good to hear. I’ll know in a few weeks myself and will report back in case of interest

Not taken Tezepelumab but currently take Dupilumab twice weekly and its been a great improvement. You'll be fine and if it works which I'm sure it will, will be life changing for you.Interesting your comment on Asthma worsening on Covid period. Me too...I have a suspicion the vacs have something to do with it, but nothing is ever mentioned about it!

Good luck with Biologics and hope you improve.

thank you - appreciate your reassurance about it. I think you could be right about the vacs. It’s like one of those changing points that happen and things never quite the same after.

I am interested in your comment about asthma getting worse since covid vacs, me too. I had unexplained pulmonary emboli in both lungs not immediately after the 2 Astra Zenika vaccinations, but soon after my breathing got worse put down to my asthma over 2 months by a clinical support worker, (couldnt see a GP) but in fact were the clots which led to heart failure. Lucky to be alive. I refuse the covid vacs now. A lot more independent research is coming out now, see Dr John Campbell on UTube ..a very dependable guy.

That sounds terrifying. I hope you’ve recovered. Almost impossible to get seen properly by gp during covid (and since in my experience). Yes I was wary of any more vax after the first AZ. I’ll be interested to see Dr Jon Campbell on UTube. Thanks

Not really been the same since, and feel rather vunerable after that experience. Do let us know how you get on with this injection - i hope it makes a big improvement for you. All the best.

thanks for letting me know about your positive response to fasenra. I definitely don’t want to take steroids again so good to know it’s reduced your use. I’m hoping to get more info at an appointment before I have my injection.
