Best wishes to all for a better 2025 and as healthy as possible . Take care now this winter weather as kicked in. I'm opting for a fish ,chips & mushy peas for my dinner today as its FRiday. Fish& chips in the oven , mushy peas in microwave but be sure to cover the peas or you'll have a splattered microwave to clean. Enjoy your weekend if you have any special plans.

I had fish chips and garden peas last week at the local pub for a late supper when I was seeing live music there which I really really enjoyed!

Today I made up my own lunch to take out with me of red salmon from a tin and pasta and leftover Christmas cake which I enjoyed and also a winter walk in the park and its swimming at 3pm which I enjoy going to!

Initially this morning I hadn't wanted to come but decided I would make an effort and I'm glad I did as its nice to get out and about!

Gettting ,out and about for me is limited to other people being available apart from a walk about once a week to a near by neighbour for a chat. I used to swim but it is many moons ago now. another task I do to get out is posting letters, parcels I have collected from the door. Glad you enjoyed your day out.

Happy New Year to you Katie. I wish you good health and happiness. I can taste the fish and chips, can't beat it hope you enjoyed. I had fish also , cod in parsley sauce, mashed potato, carrots and peas. This was just pop in the microwave as ready meal from Marks & Spencer. Have you tried it, delicious.

Hi Sheila , the fish and chips where lovely I cook them in the oven on a baking tray. Your meal sounds nice but I am not keen on parsley sauce . Used to be able to get fish in butter sauce but hard to find these days. Today I am having a chicken & veg soup/stew with the left overs and mash. I try not to waste any food. I like a lot of M&S ready meals but don't get out to buy them nowadays. Guess I could try ordering some on line . Happy new year to you xx

They do butter sauce also in Marks. I'm fortunate as my hubby does the shopping. He is also a very good cook..does corned beef and onions steak dinner and lovely Sunday roast with Yorkshire puddings. ( these are ready made from Marks) I used to love going shopping but unfortunately can't go thesedsys. I feel guilty watching him go as he's not well and also has COPD but is not on oxygen like me. When we have battered fish and chips we get it from the local chippy..I love the batter, when I was young you could buy a bag of the bits of batter for 6pence..old money

.those were the days it cost an arm and a leg for fish and chips today.

I live in the US and would love some fish and chips! Not what is served here. I think I had some original fish and chips at a fish house years ago. What type of fish is used? Wishing you a Happy New Year!
