Incredible. Never seen those before. Good name . Found "dead man's fingers" in my reference book.but they are shown to be black and white . Have you seen many of these devils fingers in the forest .?. Do you know what sort of tree, whatever are they associated with , what do these fingers grow on. .?
God hunting
Last time i went on fungi foray was shown a tiny "eyelash fungi" Half the size of my little fingernail, it had a fringe of lashes all around the edge.
They arrive in abundance during autumn and winter try looking on Google.. They are on the ground and in a sack before opening ... but Google has a full description which might make more sense π€
What an extraordinary looking fungus that is! Iβve not seen anything like it before! Presumably, with a smell that bad, it attracts flies to spread its spores. Iβll have to have a Google later and find out more about it but I donβt think itβs one Iβll be putting on my breakfast plate anytime soonπ Thank you for the intriguing photo Bb.
It's not something I would eat with my sausage that's for sure ... its not toxic in any way they just appear like this and dry out then disappear completely it's a strange thing to see π€£π€£
Thank you. Those fungi are sinister looking things. Quite obviously the Devil had a hand in them. I hope the flies with a weird sense of smell enjoy them. xxxx
