hello. wondering if anyone has experience of taking an nhs nebuliser to france? can i use a converter or do i need to purchase or rent one?
I took mine to Spain which I think has the same electricity as France. I just needed a travel plug adapter. The same as for a hairdryer.I hope that helps. By the way, if you speak to your airline you can get extra cabin baggage to carry your meds.
thanks. that is what i was hoping - just wasn't sure. i appreciate you taking the time
Hi, I bought a portable nebuliser to taje away, less to carry, works fine. Its my second one had the other for years. I purchased it from amazon you can also get your vat back on it . Its an omron battery operated. The batterys lasf a long time. Good luck. Have a nice holiday .
Hi there,
I recall not being able to take NHS equipment out of the country and if you do and there is a problem with it then you won’t have the support to fix it ?
Rental with cover outside of the UK might be your best bet ?
Enjoy your travels.
Go well.

Elenor Digby posted this sometime ago. Apparently Phillips will lend you one of these.

The problem with most travel nebulisers is that they aren’t powerful enough for colomycin.
Most NHS nebulisers are rather large and heavy. I did damage one once and was expecting a bill but it didn’t come. Enjoy your holiday.
I've not taken to France, but to Spain + canaries.i always take an extension lead and travel plugs as have niv too.yoill need a brief drs letter and list prescriptions,if in hand luggage.ring airline special assistance - they'll give u extra free baggage allowance formedical equipment
