Woot, 2 year update, covid pneumonia

Hey folks, Just a quick post.

I'm hitting 5 mile runs now and am doing strength training on my legs to improve my endurance.

I still have some issues with my neck, but its gradually improving, lets just hope I do not put it out for a third time!

I'm now hitting more challanging climbs, and have walked up Blencathra in the lakes. I did have to do it slowly as maintaining maximum heart rate is much harder these days, so good pacing got me to the top, I also hiked to Blea tarn and have visited Loch Skeen in Scotland, all challenging walks.

I still need to work on my upper body strength, cant even manage one press-up!

Progress has been slower than I expected, which is why I started the strength training. I also found on longer runs, I need 2 days to recover. I'm perrfectly fine walking and shopping, but I cant run every other day as easily as I did prior to this. I feel the second run in my legs and it really exhausts me. So I changed the way I train and its working!

Maybe I might do a half marathon next year, but I need to double my endurance.

Onwards and upwards.

WOW!!! It must feel totally amazing that your body (and mind) can do that. I used to run, do spin classes, weights and a lot more. I used to love knowing and feeling the physicality of my body's abilities. It makes me cry that I no longer can do that. I do try and focus on what I can now do but I miss my physicality so much. You are incredible.

I go to Chair Pilates. Very gentle, except when I've been ill, which means my muscles ache like mad after an apparently undemanding session. I wonder if you would be up to something similar- it feels good when my muscles start to respond. xxx

Glad you are making progress, albeit a bit slower than you hoped, but as long as things continue to improve that’s good.

Thanks, but i'm probably ahead of the schedule I set for myself, as I climbed a mountain after 22 months, not 2 years as i'd planned. I'm just going to keep going to sew how fit I can get.
