You know your own body and Trimbow doesn’t suit you. It’s Fostair that Pete can’t get on with. He’s yet to tell his respiratory doctor.
Good luck to you xxx
That shows the problem Carole - Fostair is OK for me and I don't want another change. sooner or later a bad inhaler will be prescribes. IMO if it's working, leave well alone x
You know what does not agree with you., I got sick of changing inhalers - last change was Seretide to to Fostair - No more change for me. Happy as I am with that,
Why do the docs mess around with medication which is working perfectly well?
Cost …I asked my doctors ‘why since they were constantly changing my inhalers and causing concerns with my respiratory system and I was told pharmaceutical costs…plus they tried to push the ‘environmental aspect’ until I pointed out I had studied Environmental Science at masters level and the arguement was flawed since the canister and plastic containers can be recycled at no extra cost by returning them to pharmacies, since they are not orphan waste as they tried to say … so I was returned to the original inhalers, my breathing came back to my normal …and allergies of air ways was no more ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Um may I suggest meds are changed to cut costs.I have had incidents in past where asthma nurse at local surgery has changed inhalers to a cheaper version.
Luckily the respiratory consultant rolled his eyes and changed them back again.
Having been on enteric coated prednisolone for many years the nurse saw fit to go for version that wasn't enteric coated causing upset painful gut .!
Hope u soon pick up x
Why on earth would they put you on something again that didn't work for you before. It beggars belief. Hope you improve soon chook 🤞😉
I had my Fostair changed to Luforbec but they were giving me half dose to what I was on before with the effect my breathing got really bad. I kept complaining saying it wasn’t working for me and they were saying it’s the same. I ended up one morning I couldn’t breathe. I was put back on steroids which I didn’t really want to go back on as I have already had fractures due to taking them. I asked if I could see the Asthma nurse and she put me back on Fostair on the full dose. My Dr told me they were phasing Forstair out as it was too costly. And that Luforbec is the same. If it’s the same why do we have to keep it in the fridge. We never did Fostair. Well my breathing did settle down eventually but I don’t fancy it’s ever been as good since.
I initially had my forstair changed by my GP for cost reasons to Luforbec. They cant phase them out, they still exist? My consultant didnt like Luforbec, said it was known to cause a cough. Thankfully Im back on Forstair which suits me. x
They did get me some Fostair but both the Dr and my Consultant have said it’s exactly the same. So I’m now back on the Luforbec. Admittedly I do cough out of the blue sometimes. I’m ok all the time but something triggers a Tilly cough. Not all the time so it doesn’t bother me. It did when they cut me down to a half dose but I’m fine again back on the full two puffs a day.
Tell them "I've adenough" 😂 Sorry not really trying to make light of your predicament, but they do need to be told and, sorry to say, we have to be quite forceful sometimes. Hope you feel better soon xx
Hope you feel well soon take care
My medication was changed while I was in hospital with a bad chest infection (what a time to do it!) from Spiriva respimat to Trimbow. After 3 weeks of ineffective anti biotics I was in a desperate state when sent home. Some people like Trimbow. I did nothing to help me at all; I was breathless, shaky and with pains all over. Put myself back on Spiriva which I had taken for 10 years and am still on it.
