Hi ,I just started using Eklira Genuair :I followed the instruction step by step for a week now but there are no signs of relief from my dyspnea .. problem is that I already tryed other Broncodilators but none worked; I am now on 1 litre of oxygen a day ; on oxygen I can walk 350 mt in one go and repeat 3 times after a short break, I am not diabetic or overweight, my heart is fine (pulmunary hypertension has been ruled out). The pulmonary nurse suggested that it could be done to anxiety; I assisted for months my wife soffering with colon cancer until her death in april this year, and of course the sadness and the sense of impotence not being able to help her probably played an important part.I will start acupuncture next week hoping for a solution; I want to avoid medicine as much as I can....any advice will be appreciated, thanks.Pasquino

You've had a really tough year, pasquino, so it's no wonder you're struggling with your own health.

I found acupuncture really helpful for relieving pain and relaxing damaged muscles in a drug free way, so it may well help you. I went thinking, if it works, great; if it doesn't, well at least I've tried. But it did help.

The ALUK has a helpine number where you can talk to a nurse about your situation and get guidance: phone them on 0300 222 5800.

Wishing you all the best.

Have you had pulmonary rehab? If not, ask for it. Any sort of gentle exercise helps with breathing.

Acupuncture is definitely powerful - I've had different experiences with it but have never had no effect from it at all. It's worth trying different practitioners to find one you feel good with.
