You need to go to your gp. I regularly need more than one course of antibiotics and steroids. It maybe that gp tries a different antibiotic.

Yes, Bevvy is right. You must see GP again. Insist on appointment asap. Don't take 'no' for an answer.

Hi, I read your bio but don’t know if you live in the UK .

if you do ring 111 and ask for advice , explain your condition and medication used

Best wishes ….I have just started my rescue pack …steroids have kicked in and kept me awake .

As the others have said, call your GP . Our surgery has emergency appts available if you call at 8am. Or as knitter suggests 111. Hope you feel better soon xx

Same advice see Gp. My rescue pack did not work last New Year. Switched to another that did. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Always ideal to have at least two different antibiotics at home. Was told by a nurse that if no improvement after first five days to change to a different antibiotic..

If you have "chest pain" and rescue pack not working - Go to A&E or urgent care soon. You can try ringing GP, but a standard advice for chest pain is - Dial 999

My consultant always said don't let the doc give you one week of tablets you must always have 2. Hope your better soon.

take a sputum sample in to your GP so it can be tested to determine what’s causing it and you get the right antibiotic x

Just don't delay, phone GP or if you can't get through nhs 24. I've been on two different abs at the same time before. Good luck.

Sorry that you are still not feeling well. As others have advised see your GP and I find a hot water bottle or wheat pack on my back offers some relief at such times as yours.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Locura

We would agree with our members advice to see your GP as soon as possible. Pain in the chest is a red flag and should not be ignored. If you are in the UK, you can call 111 or 999 in an emergency.

Take care

See your clinician - it sounds like either a particularly sever infection or something that needs investigating.

Get a sputum sample into your surgery. The AB in your rescue pack is probably not the right one to sort the bug you have. You may even need an intravenous AB.
