Not nice. My tinnitus was caused by Amitriptyline but isn’t too bad. I do feel for you. Xxx

Its back to the parrot sitting on my left shoulder. phew

As Serevent does give me my normal weak legs after taking it it has been returned to the chemist with only 2 puffs used . Another wasted inhaler and there has been a few

Glad you’re ok and hope you can find an inhaler to suit. Take care

Hi there, I think mine was cas also caused by amitriptyline prescribed to treat chronic back issues, but 4 weeks in I developed this hogh pitched tinnitus,it absolutely floored me and I really struggled with it, I stopped taking amnitryptyline immediately but 3 months on its still here and its relentless, doctor thinks it's all down to the stress and severe back pain,I'm still new to this condition and don't cope too well at times, in the middle of a spike at the moment, I'm guessing it's the stress of having back surgery tommorrow, doctor thinks it will all go away once back is better and I get back to work, here's hoping! First Post by the way and I'm glad I found this platform its very helpful and I greatly admire people who find a way to live with this awful condition

Welcome to you and I wish you well with the back surgery. My tinnitus is more of a hissing sound but can be quite loud at times. I’m sure there are sites online that can help with tinnitus so might be worth taking a look. Xx

I didn't realise it could cause tinnitus. I'd better check the packet mine came in as I've developed that in recent years - about the time I've been taking it.

Yes unfortunately Amitriptyline has tinnitus mentioned in side effects. Doctors have tried prescribing it to Pete but he always refuses. Xxx
