Braitus Inhalation capsules

Good Morning All, just wondered if anybody had ever done this by mistake. I took my blood pressure tablets as normal when I woke up and then went back to sleepyland. When I woke I thought I must do my Braitus ( I was half asleep) In error I swallowed the capsule I realised just after I had done it and I panicked, I then inhaled a capsule, and proceeded to phone 111 and told them exactly what I had done, I felt such a fool, but I had no effect from it but nurse told me I shouldn't have any side effects and to be careful that I didn't do it again. I have got to Tuesday without any side effects. Can anyone else own up to doing this !!!!

I can indeed. Luckily a friend was here with me . I phoned my gp and he asked me what was my weight, and then he contacted the Poison clinic. I think that was what it was called. somewhere on London. Anyway called me back and said it was no problem. Not clear what my body weight had to do with it, but it did.

By then my friend had called 111 and had the same response you had.

I would still run it past your gp on the phone, just to be safe.

I think any severe reaction would have happened immediately? That s my take on it.

Yep I too felt so silly. Best to forget it I guess. But no you are not alone!!! That’s what great about this forum

I've come close to swallowing a Spiriva capsule, several people actually have with no ll-effects so I don't think you need to worry.

Like Dragonmum I too have accidentally swallowed a Spiriva capsule fortunately it had no ill effect on me!

No you won't be the first - but my opinion is that these capsules are made from plastic and not a soluble medium like tablets intended to dissolve and release medication.

I think these would therefore pass straight through you...just my opinion but better to check.
