I'm sorry you're in this state. Try to eat something, anything. When you're having good days get in a supply of Readimeals or tins, or biscuits. All the unhealthy things you wouldn't normally eat. (Baked beans and tinned fruit are reasonably healthy of course.) Don't worry about what you're eating until you feel a bit better. Perhaps you could lash out and order a takeaway. I'm afraid a lot of us have very little support, except what we offer each other.

There are some great microwave meals in the supermarkets. If it's too much of a struggle to go shopping, you could order them online. And tempting things like cherries and biscuits would help too. Food has always been the first medicine.

Wishing you all the best

Are you able to face an egg for easy nutrition and milk ? I find soups good to get down when no appetite and fruit as suggested above. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm just scared I'm having a psychoctic episode as don't seem to be able to function and really don't want to go into a psychiatric hospital

Hi again. Being scared is horrible. Have you tried searching mind.org.uk an information and signposting charity. Or you can ring them on 0300 123 3393 Their website suggests various ways of finding support. even your local pharmacist who might know local support services. The NHS services would only use hospital as a last resort and do have other ways to offer support. Please do not continue to suffer alone but reach out as you have here.

Good luck.🙏

Then stay with this group where I’m sure you will get lots of support. I must admit I struggle to do things but simply because I have back problems. Getting meals sorting washing keeping everything together. But at the end of the day there’s only me so I make myself do these things. As long as I can I will. That’s what you have to keep saying to yourself. You know you are a strong person really and you can do it. You’ve done it before and you can do it again. Stay strong. Xx

What sort of meals do you do

I cook most days although it gives me a lot of pain. I like to keep myself healthy in other ways so I still cook for myself. I must admit if it’s quick to do I’m pleased. I could so easy give in and have frozen meals but I know that my meals will be nutritious. I’m not so sure on frozen. I did myself bubble and squeak with a burger tonight. Sunday I’ll cook a full roast.

Some easy meals are jacket potato and tuna with peas, or with rice. There are some easy meals with pasta too. You can add herbs, or a sauce if you want to or cheese. It can be satisfying making a meal that doesn't cost a lot too!

Pot noodle's...they are just the best. My Tesco delivery driver takes my order into the kitchen. We've only just discovered microwave meals and potatoes in bags to micro and veg too. Means I don't have as many dishes to wash. Although I am thinking about paper plates I can use and throw! First stop is your Doc's, I always tell the receptionist I'm a copd patient and I get seen to.Try to stay strongish and we're all here for you

Hi, you need food and you need sleep to live well.

Ready meals frozen or tinned. Even Fish n Chips.

I eat scones, cakes - Just whatever I fancy, I went for eye injection today and got a pie/hotpot for my tea,

Whatever you try you need food to help your day to day living.

Sleep - Can you not get asleep aid from your GP ? get some proper sleep and you may want to eat.

You are scared and need help - you need support, really contact your GP as a start, anyone who will listen. You can get some support ringing 111 - They would refer you.

Best Wishes.

I’m under a hospital dietitian for disease based malnutrition, lack of energy can result from under eating. If you can’t manage a full meal eat little and often, ready meals, pot noodles, beans on toast etc. Don’t follow any “diets” unless you’re diabetic or similar. Try and eat a balanced diet, including meat, fish, dairy, vegetables and fruit but most importantly eat what you like not what you think you should eat.

I've been living on Wiltshire Farm Foods for some years now. Reasonable prices with free delivery, the friendly delivery drivers will even put your order in your freezer for you if you have mobility problems. Give them a ring and ask for a catalogue you're sure to see something that tickles your fancy. wiltshirefarmfoods.com
