Your fingers shouldn't be going blue. Do you know what your stats are? I really think you should be talking to your doctor asap. Take care, Laurie xx

Hi there, yup this is me every day. I must remember to turn my oxygen up before I move a muscle. My lips and nose go blue and my fingertips too. I have curved fingernails that my old doctor noticed, then we moved house and I never had it followed up. Are you on oxygen?Lesley xx

Hi Diane, I can't remember the name my old doctor gave my nails but he said that it's a sign that there is something wrong with your lungs. He sent me for an x-ray but couldn't really see much, then we moved home and I never followed up.My oxygen is set at 4-5 when I'm sat down and I'm lucky if I reach 88-90. I have to turn it up to 6-8 when moving about, slow, but I have stools to rest on to wait for it to rise.

I've been told that as long as it goes from the 70 it drops to back up to 88 quickly then I should be ok, but if it doesn't I'm to go straight to hospital.

So if I go like a snail and breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth, while my oxygen is set at 8, I avoid the blue rinse. Some days are better than others.

Stay strong and talk to your team. And us 😜

Love Lesley xxx

Sounds scary - I get blue lips but not fingers. You should contact GP if your fingers are blueish.

Yes but just go slowly and remember to breathe. In thro nose slowly hold it and out through mouth persed lips slowly. Once you hold breath that's the problem. I am currently hospitalized so waiting on results. Thinking of you just remember theres no rush just take it slowly. Good luck xxSheila 🙏🤞💕⚘

Easy to remember smell the Roses hold it blow out the candle gently xx

Hi Pugs,

It's called finger clubbing.

I would ring 111, if you are not too breathless to call, or get someone else to do it. I think you need to be analysed by a respiratory team at a hospital. I have never had much luck with a GP -the respiratory nurses seem to know more, but you do need some help, as clearly your oxygen levels are dropping and there must be a reason for this - not necessarily just COPD! You need some expert medical care.

I feel so sorry for you and am so sympathetic, but try and be pro-active if you can, as you do need some help.

Long shot but perhaps you should get your heart checked. It may be that you've been put in the COPD box & therefore nothing else is being considered - just a thought.

I think you should be seeing a specialist as it seems there should be something more they can do for you.
