I posted in May that my husband had been sent home from hospital with a NIV machine. He's getting on well with it & was using his nebuliser a lot less, well until the hot weather hit at the weekend! Unfortunately it's not helped his lack of sleep......best so far being less than 4 hours!Anyway, my question is what is the best way to clean & dry the hose?

NIV hose cleaning
With my hose I just fill it with soapy water.
I don't submerge it. I plug one end, fill it using a jug, plug the other end, then move the hose up and down etc to get the soapy water moving around inside the hose.
I then empty it and flush it through several times with clean water. Hang it up for several hours so excess water can drain out. By the time I come to use it, it is 99.9% dry and any remaining water droplets will just get blown through when I turn the machine on.
Morning! 😀 I use antibac washing up liquid and do as airbus has described. I do my mask at the same time and have a designated toothbrush to scrub it. I loop the hose through a blind in the bedroom, in this weather it dries with the sun, in the winter the heat from the radiator below dries it!
Sorry the NIV hasn't helped with hubby's sleep, I sleep all hours since having it!
Anyway, stay cool, Laurie xx
I clean with mild washing up liquid and rinse and let dry naturally. I do the same routine as airbusA346. Regarding the lack of sleep have you been tested for sleep apnea? I now have a CPAC machine at night made a great difference to me
Thank you for the replies everyone.
I know nothing about "NIV hose cleaning" - I do know like your husband what getting 4 hours sleep or even less is like. little energy the worst problem., Glad he needs to use his nebuliser less.
I soak mine in soapy water, ensuring it goes in the pipe and rinse thro with clean water.i loop it thro itself on the washing line x
